WrestleMania 41: Backup Main Event Plans In Absence Of The Rock At WWE PLE

WrestleMania is the stage where WWE usually culminates the very best storylines of the year with the main event being reserved for the absolute top superstars clashing against each other for a coveted title in the company.

Per previous reports of WrestleVotes, WWE has long been discussing Cody Rhodes vs. The Rock vs. Roman Reigns in the Triple Threat for the Undisputed WWE Championship as the main event of WrestleMania 41-Night Two.

However, there's still no confirmation on The Rock's status for the biggest WWE premium live event of the year in 2025, and even if he appears, he could be limited in participating in a match due to movie-filming obligations.

In an update, The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that if The Rock doesn't return for a match, then there's a strong possibility of WWE hosting Roman Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes III as the main event of WrestleMania 41 since they are 1-1.

At this stage, both Reigns and Rhodes are babyface figures on SmackDown. Before they teamed up at Bad Blood in a one-off tag team match, Reigns teased coming for Rhodes and the WWE Title when the time is right.

Time will tell if WWE will take the predicted route of booking the third installment of Reigns vs. Rhodes at WrestleMania 41 but regarding the main event of the PLE, we should only expect a surprise, per the latter as noted in an interview with Dayna Roselli on Vegas.

"What I can say for those who keep an eye on the rumor, I bet you what they get at WrestleMania 41 is unexpected even to them... this one is going to be unexpected, is the best way to put it."

Rhodes has neither confirmed nor denied the rumors of a potential rematch against Reigns at WrestleMania 41 but has only noted that he's happy as long as he's in the main event spotlight.

The highly anticipated WWE WrestleMania 41 WWE premium live event will emanate from the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada on Saturday and Sunday, April 19 and 20. For the time being, no official announcement regarding the match card has come.
