WrestleMania 41: CM Punk Possibly Facing Former World Champion At WWE PLE?

CM Punk returned to the WWE at last year's Survivor Series with the hope of featuring in a marquee singles match, approved by the creative team of the company at WrestleMania XL but it got scrapped due to injury reasons.

In an interesting instance, the previously debunked match is still penciled in for the next edition of WrestleMania where the former world champion would face someone who can't stand him from day one.

According to the reports of WRKD Wrestling, WWE is planning to have CM Punk vs. Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 41 that's scheduled in April 2024 from the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The bad blood between these two goes way long as Rollins openly expressed his frustrations over the former champion's comeback to the WWE at Survivor Series after a long wait of a decade.

According to WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H (as told in the WrestleMania XL documentary), Punk was set to challenge Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 40 but the match had to be scrapped.

Punk picked up a triceps injury during the Men's Royal Rumble Match and this led to the match cancellation. Rather, the man behind the injury, Drew McIntyre started a fresh feud with him that's been in progress throughout the summer.

Meanwhile, tensions again started to rise between Rollins and Punk at SummerSlam 2024, where Rollins acted as the special guest referee for Punk's match against Drew McIntyre. Punk even hit Rollins with his GTS finisher during the match.

On the post-SummerSlam episode of Raw, Rollins came out to fight with Punk, but he was taken out by "Big" Bronson Reed via six straight Tsunami splashes. Reportedly, this was a kayfabe angle to send Rollins off TV.

The Visionary needed some time to heal off some of his minor wounds as reports now suggest that he could show up at the Bad Blood 2024 premium live event to resume his feud with Punk.
