WrestleMania 41 Night One Recap

The night opened with Jey Uso challenging GUNTHER for the World Heavyweight Championship. Despite GUNTHER's dominance throughout the match, Jey Uso fought back resiliently. Jey survived multiple near-falls, including one after GUNTHER illegally used the championship belt.

He also escaped GUNTHER's sleeper hold and endured his signature chops. After hitting several spears and Uso splashes, Jey countered a powerbomb and landed three consecutive Uso splashes. In a surprising turn, Jey Uso applied a sleeper hold, forcing the champion GUNTHER to tap out.

Jey Uso won the World Heavyweight Championship, achieving his dream. The moment was capped off by an emotional celebration in the ring with his twin brother, Jimmy Uso.

The night's action continued with World Tag Team championship match as The New Day (Xavier Woods & Kofi Kingston), portrayed as villains following a near split and animosity towards Big E, challenged The War Raiders for the title.

The match featured impressive offense from The War Raiders' Ivar, including a moonsault that nearly won the match before Woods broke up the pin. The New Day utilized interference and underhanded tactics, with Kingston frequently intervening to give his team an advantage.

The finish came when Woods and Kingston hit a double stomp on Ivar from the top rope. During the subsequent pinfall attempt by Woods, Kingston secretly held Ivar's legs down, preventing him from kicking out. This secured the victory for The New Day, marking their 13th Tag Team Championship win in WWE.

After two titles changed hands, it was time for some one-on-on action as Naomi and Jade Cargill faced off following their intense rivalry in recent weeks. The match saw Jade initially dominate, but Naomi mounted offense in the middle.

Jade regained control, showcasing her power with moves like a Jackhammer, a bulldog off the top rope, and a notable electric chair powerbomb, ultimately leading to her victory. There could be more to this rivalry in the future.

Next up, in another title showdown, Jacob Fatu faced LA Knight for the United States Championship, promising to bring the title to his family after Solo Sikoa's unsuccessful attempt.

The matchup was typical until Knight countered Fatu's moonsault with a BFT for a near fall. However, Fatu later hit two consecutive moonsaults to secure the pinfall and win the championship. WWE legend Haku then joined him in the ring to celebrate.

Rey Fenix fell to El Grande Americano in a quick one-on-one match, but this rivalry does not look like the one that would end at the Showcase of Immortals in Las Vegas. Expect more heat between the two factions in the coming weeks.

In the only title defence of the night, Tiffany Stratton defeated Charlotte Flair to retain her WWE Women's Championship before it was time for the Triple Threat headliner featuring Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins and CM Punk with Paul Heyman at ringside.

Heyman played a significant role in the contest as he turned his back on CM Punk and Roman Reigns to assist Seth Rollins to victory as WrestleMania 41 night 1 came to a close in Las Vegas, where Night 2 promises even more thrilling action.
