WWE to add new championships after Wrestlemania 34

Bengaluru, March 9: Two new championships will be unveiled in WWE after the Wrestlemania event, according to recent reports. However, neither of them will be for the main roster as they would be used for the developmental territory.

According to a report from PWInsider.com, WWE creative team intends to introduce tag team championships for the Cruiserweight division. Right now the roster is very light for this particular division. But, with the general manager, Drake Maverick scouting for talents, constantly, there should be more names added to the brand in the future.

So, there should be no problems in finding separate superstars for the singles and the tag team division. This revelation is another hint that Triple H is willing to change the structure of the Cruiserweight division, after taking over the reigns from Vince McMahon. With the addition of more talents and titles into the division, he might be able to change WWE 205 Live show as a complete brand.

The initial look of the belt representing the championships has also been revealed on the social media. This is considered to be a throwback to the Cruiserweight tag titles that existed in the WCW days. Check out the designing updates from stillrealtous.com,

“It’s easy to imagine that there could be way more color to the titles when they officially debut but it’s a pretty cool sketch, to say the least. It also looks like they’ll stick with side plates that don’t switch out for 205 Live once again which has worked in the past for the show.”

Apart from this particular title, another championship is said to be revealed on the WWE NXT brand. A secondary title would be added to the developmental territory of the company. This would help to add depth to the roster of this division that supplies the main-roster superstars.

Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com reported that the upcoming title would be called WWE NXT North American Championship. The first match to crown a new titleholder has already been announced for NXT Takeover: New Orleans. This title would serve as the mid-card title present on the main roster like the Intercontinental or United States title on the main roster.
