Bengaluru, April 29: Over the past few weeks, there were strong speculations going on about WWE slightly changing their schedule for the month of July. All of those suggested that the company is going to reintroduce an older PPV.
They have got success by bringing back the Backlash and No Mercy gimmicks. So, it was expected another one will make his way to the list.
But, all of a sudden WWE came up with a huge announcement regarding a brand new event.
As listed on the official website of the company, Great Balls of Fire PPV will be hosted on July 9th, 2017. It was not specified whether it will belong to Raw or Smackdown.
But, since superstars like Brock Lesnar, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, Finn Balor are being advertised for the show, it is evident that it will be a Raw-exclusive night. So, this is going to be the third brand specific PPV from the flagship show.
The PPV will take place at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas. Official twitter handle of the venue released the following to confirm the new, further. The video package also suggests that it will be a Raw-exclusive event.

As per the sources, it will be the first time when the reigning WWE universal champion, Brock Lesnar will be defending his title.
No clues were given about the opponent reserved for him. With that being said, it is evident that we will not see Lesnar performing at the Extreme Rules PPV in June.
Previously, it was being rumoured that the Bad Blood PPV is returning in the month of July. The XL Center in Hartford, Connecticut was gearing up for hosting a PPV after over a decade. But, with this announcement coming in, this program is wiped out.
It is quite surprising to see WWE coming up with a brand new event, all of a sudden. Also, there's a fan backlash going on over the strange name of the PPV which is quite unusual in the PG era.
