Bengaluru, January 30: The Women’s Evolution reached an all new high after the monumental women’s Royal Rumble match and now with Stephanie McMahon's announcement of a first-ever women’s Elimination Chamber match it just got even huge.
As a champion, the WWE Raw women’s champion Alexa Bliss will be forced to defend her title against five other superstars from the roster inside the steel structure made of pure steel. Check out the announcement by WWE.com,
“At WWE Elimination Chamber, the women of Raw will once again make history when five brave competitors challenge Raw Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss for her illustrious title in the first-ever Women’s Elimination Chamber Match.
The monumental news came from Raw Commissioner Stephanie McMahon just 24 hours after the groundbreaking Women’s Royal Rumble Match, and the winner of the career-altering showdown will defend the Raw Women’s Title at WrestleMania 34.”
As you can see, the winner of this match will have the opportunity to head towards Wrestlemania 34 as the reigning champion. However, Asuka, the fiercest opponent of the entire women’s division will be waiting for whoever ends the winner in the Chamber.
Elimination Chamber is considered to be one of the most barbaric structures created by the WWE. The tradition to host the match began in the last decade with an exciting concept. With the entire structure surrounded by pure steel chains, the structure has four pods in the corners.
6 participants can take part in this match with two superstars starting the contest while the rest of the four get locked in these pods made of bulletproof glass. After every five minutes, one superstar will be released from the pods in a random order and gets added to the match.
Superstars get eliminated by pinfall or submissions. The last one standing inside the ring is declared the winner of the match. With the chain structure surrounding the ring, it’s needless to say that every inch of that cage bears pain to the superstars. This time around, the event takes place on February 25th with not one but two separate matches scheduled inside it.
