Bengaluru, December 19: WWE have announced the Universal title will be on the line at the first pay-per-view of the year, the Royal Rumble 2018.

The confusion around WWE Universal Championship continued until last night’s WWE Raw where Kurt Angle kicked off the show to make the decision by the end of the night. However, Braun Strowman was quick to interrupt him demanding the title match.

In case you have forgotten, last week, we witnessed a number one contender’s match between Strowman and Kane which was disqualified. Following the match, the monster among men was the one to stand tall by putting away the Big Red Monster. He put the demon from hell through the table.

But, Kane was also quick to come up with his own pledge stating that he has dominated the scene in the WWE for the last two decades and nobody brings the destruction like him inside the squared circle. So, he demanded a championship shot as a worthy opponent.

The GM, Kurt Angle made a decision and gave an opportunity to both the monster with the announcement of a triple threat match where Brock Lesnar will be forced to defend his belt against both Kane and Braun Strowman at the same time in a No Disqualification match. The champion will not have to be involved in the pinfall or submission to lose his title at the first dual-brand PPV of 2018 which is unfair to him.

Later, WWE.com released a statement about the contest with the following quotes which confirmed the main event match,

“Demons and Monsters and Beasts, oh my! at the 2018 Royal Rumble, not one, not two, but three immovable objects will be facing off when Brock Lesnar puts his Universal Championship on the line against Braun Strowman and Kane in a Triple Threat Match.

Will The Devil’s Favorite Demon or The Monster Among Men have what it takes to dethrone Lesnar? Or will The Conqueror vanquish his monstrous adversaries to Suplex City? Find out at Royal Rumble, Sunday, Jan 28, at a special start time of 7 ET/4 PT, streaming live on WWE Network!”

The stakes will definitely be high in this match with the monsters being involved in the contest. The winner of this match is likely to go into Wrestlemania 34 with the title in hand as the headliner of the biggest show of the year. The road to the showcase of immortals also begins on the very night of Royal Rumble 2018.
