New Delhi, Sep 3: In an unfortunate turn of events, WWE might be on the verge of losing a veteran superstar from weekly TV shows. The concerned name is John Bradshaw Layfield who is a regular member of the Smackdown commentary team. Plus, with JBL’s vast experience, he is also considered as one of the legendary WWE analyzers.

The news of JBL leaving WWE was first broken by himself on his Twitter account. He revealed that after thinking for a lot he has finally decided to leave the company in order to work more for charity purposes. However, this would not be his last association with the WWE.

He has been a part of the world’s biggest wrestling promotion for two decades and will continue to be a part of that. The future Hall of Famer will return for bigger shows in the calendar in the WWE like Wrestlemania, Tribute to the Troops and others. WWE.com also confirmed his leaving on a positive note.

The former WWE Champion posted a long message on Twitter. Here are some of the excerpts from it,

"After much consideration, I will be stepping back my weekly role as Smackdown Announcer to dedicate more continuous time on the work I have done since 2010 with at risk kids and communities. My new schedule will allow me to continue to be a part of the WWE family and also continue my work that I feel is the most important thing in my life.

I will continue my 20+ year relationship with WWE and will appear on such marquee shows as Tribute to the Troops, WrestleMania, amongst others.”

In case you don’t know, JBL has been part of charitable works since the day he left active wrestling in the last decade. He found an organization to help the needed children and people in 2010. This time around, he will work with another foundation named Beyond Sport. This will be a campaign to help the people in Bermuda named Beyond Rugby Bermuda.

JBL is the longest reigning WWE Champion in the history of Smackdown who was dethroned by John Cena. He left in-ring competition at Wrestlemania 25 after losing a match against Rey Mysterio in just 21 seconds.
