Bengaluru, Jan 28: Two championship matches were scrapped off the Royal Rumble PPV match card over the last few days. To make up for those contests, WWE has now come up with some more additions to the show. Three new matches have been announced for the first dual-brand PPV of the year set to take place on tomorrow night in Philadelphia.

As noted on the official website of the company, three matches were made official for the kick-off show. A United States Championship match was put back into the card. Earlier, the finale of the US tournament final was supposed to happen on the night which already culminated on an episode of Smackdown Live.

In the newly added match, the new champion, Bobby Roode will be defending his championship. His opponent was not yet known since it is going to be an open challenge for his title. This has made things quite interesting as we might see a surprise name answering the challenge setting up a big match.

Check out the announcement from WWE.com,

''Royal Rumble Kickoff just became truly glorious, as newly-crowned United States Champion Boddy Roode will aim to prove himself a fighting champion from the get-go by defending his illustrious red, white and blue title in an Open Challenge. Who will emerge to face him?''

Apart from this match, two of the major tag teams from WWE Raw will be colliding on the kick-off show. It will be The Revival taking on the team of Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson. This match has been set up after the altercation that took place on the WWE Raw 25th anniversary at the Manhattan Center in New York City.

This time around, the leader of the Balor Club, Finn Balor will not be present at the ringside since he will be preparing for the men's Royal Rumble match. Also, a replaced matchup was announced from the Cruiserweight Division after the title match was cancelled.

Kalisto, Lince Dorado, and Gran Metalik are set to square off against the team of Drew Gulak, TJP, and the Gentlemen Jack Gallagher. Additionally, a huge name was confirmed to enter the men's Royal Rumble match. It will be the franchise player of the company, Roman Reigns who will return to the venue where he won the prestigious battle royal, three years ago. Plus, Maria Menounos from E-News is set to announce the women’s Royal Rumble match.
