WWE Backlash 2023: Main Event announced alongside huge Six-Man Tag Team Match

Bengaluru, April 18: Fresh off two huge brawls on this week's episode of Raw, WWE has churned out two separate matches for the 2023 edition of Backlash pay-per-view/premium live event including the headliner.

On the Raw after WrestleMania 39 episode, Brock Lesnar created a buzz by turning heel for the first time in two years via a sadistic attack on Cody Rhodes. Since Lesnar was present in the building on the latest Raw, Rhodes wanted to seek revenge.

The American Nightmare came out dressed ready for a fight and called out Brock Lesnar without any hesitation. WWE Official Adam Pearce was quick to request Cody to leave because he's not medically cleared to compete.

A fired-up Rhodes then took out a Steel Chair from under the ring and at the same time, Brock Lesnar's music hit the arena, and out he came in a huge pop from the audience.

In order to prevent a brawl from going down, Adam Pearce officially booked Cody Rhodes vs. Brock Lesnar for Backlash as he wanted the two to save the fight for Puerto Rico.

A bunch of security guards was present to further prohibit the fight but Rhodes attacked them in order to reach Lesnar. Rhodes brawled with the guards as Lesnar watched for some time before leaving the arena.

Due to Lesnar avoiding him, Rhodes stated, "Brock Lesnar, you are not a cowboy. You are a coward." Roman Reigns isn't working Backlash and hence it's a no-brainer that Lesnar vs. Rhodes will now serve as the main event of the upcoming PLE.

This wasn't the only brawl that went down on the April 17 episode of Raw emanating from the Simmons Bank Arena in Little Rock, Arkansas. Three top teams of the WWE roster were seen hammering away at each other after the main event.

In the final match of the night, Matt Riddle & Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn defeated Judgment Day (Finn Balor, Damian Priest & Dominik Mysterio) in a six-man tag team affair.

Soon after the match was over, The Usos & Solo Sikoa attacked Riddle, Owens & Zayn to start a brawl. To make the save, Smackdown roster members, LWO (Rey Mysterio & Legado Del Fantasma) entered the fray and thereby ensue a huge four-way brawl.

As a result, a new tag team match has been confirmed for Backlash 2023 which will see The Usos and Solo Sikoa taking on Matt Riddle & Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn in a non-title capacity.

The 2023 WWE Backlash Premium Live Event takes place Saturday, May 6 at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico José Miguel Agrelot in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The current match card for the PLE following this week's Raw goes as follows:

- Brock Lesnar vs. Cody Rhodes

- Six-Man Tag Team Match: Matt Riddle & Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn vs. The Usos & Solo Sikoa

- Bad Bunny to be the host of Backlash in his hometown
