WWE Backlash 2023: Possible match revealed featuring Brock Lesnar

Bengaluru, April 10: On the Raw after WrestleMania 39, Brock Lesnar became the center of attention coming off a dud match at the Show of Shows against Omos. The top attraction of the WWE has turned heel and now he's possibly colliding with a top babyface at Backlash.

Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns confronted his WrestleMania 39 opponent, Cody Rhodes in the opening segment of the April 3 Raw episode. Lesnar came out to align with the latter name which led to a mega tag team match.

The Bloodline (Roman Reigns & Solo Sikoa) vs. Cody Rhodes & Brock Lesnar was the dream lineup but the match never got underway. Lesnar unleashed hell on his tag team partner with a brutal attack to lay him lying on the mat.

According to an update on the situation from The Wrestling Blog, Brock Lesnar vs. Cody Rhodes could take place at WWE Backlash 2023 in early May. Depending on the situation and storyline, it could also be pushed back to WWE King & Queen of The Ring in Saudi Arabia, later that month.

"For what I know as of right now, Cody vs. Brock is potentially taking place at Backlash. I asked 2 of my sources they both give me the same answer.

Backlash is the current plan, but there's been talks of King & Queen Of The Ring PPV too, but Backlash is the main plan," the source noted.

More on this match would be available on tonight's episode of Monday Night Raw which airs from the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon. Cody Rhodes is slated to appear on the show to discuss his future in the WWE and possibly lay down a challenge to The Beast.

At this point, Brock Lesnar isn't listed to appear on the show along with the undisputed champion Roman Reigns who's expectedly gone into a post-WrestleMania hiatus. The Tribal Chief is likely to miss Backlash, as per the current reports.

However, Roman is still likely working the King & Queen of the Ring PLE in Saudi Arabia on May 27th to throw a celebration on that night after completing 1000 days of his current title run which started all the way back at SummerSlam 2020 PLE.

The 2023 WWE Backlash premium live event emanates, live from the Coliseo de Puerto Rico José Miguel Agrelot in San Juan, Puerto Rico on Saturday, May 6. Bad Bunny will host the show while any superstar or match is yet to be confirmed.
