WWE Backlash went international, last night from France marking the first premium live event of the ongoing new era following WrestleMania XL. Cody Rhodes main-evented the night with AJ Styles in a WWE Championship Match.
The WWE World Heavyweight Championship was also on the line on the show alongside the WWE Women's Tag Team Titles. Check out the results from the overall five matches from the PLE that went down from the LDLC Arena in Décines-Charpieu in Lyon Metropolis, France.

- In the opening match of Backlash France, The Bloodline (Solo Sikoa and Tama Tonga with Paul Heyman) defeated Kevin Owens and Randy Orton in a Street Fight. In a brutal spot, Owens put Tama through the chairs with an avalanche fisherman's buster.
Suddenly, Tanga Loa (fka Camacho in WWE NXT), brother of Tama Tonga hit Orton and Owens in the face with the steel steps. Sikoa then planted Owens with a uranage onto a chair before hitting the Samoan Spike for the pin-fall win.
- Bayley (c) defeated Naomi and Tiffany Stratton in a Triple Threat Match to retain the WWE Women's Championship. Naomi was pinned by the champion while dealing with inside cradles to cause a soft finish to the match.
- Damian Priest (c) defeated Jey Uso to retain the World Heavyweight Championship at Backlash. JD McDonagh and Finn Balor expectedly interfered in this match in favor of Priest by distracting Jey. Priest hit a chokeslam off the ropes to pick up the win.
After the match, JD and Balor attacked Jey but Priest wasn't happy about it and almost fought with them. They ultimately calmed things down and celebrated the win but this was another tease of an eventual Judgment Day break-up.
- Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill defeated The Kabuki Warriors (Asuka and Kairi Sane) (c) to win the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship. The finish saw Belair KOD-ing Asuka onto Sane and pinning Sane for the pinfall win.
- In the main event of Backlash France, Cody Rhodes (c) defeated AJ Styles to retain the Undisputed WWE Championship. Referee Jessika Carr made history in this match as she is the first female referee to officiate a PLE main event for the WWE Title.
Styles blocked a Cross Rhodes and hit a Pelé Kick before going for a Phenomenal forearm but Rhodes hit a thrust kick to the gut. After hitting a Cody Cutter off the top ropes, Cody connected with the Cross Rhodes for the pin-fall win.
