Six months after dropping the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at WrestleMania XL, Roman Reigns will return to action on WWE TV on next month’s Bad Blood 2024 premium live event for a tag team match.

In this bout announced for the returning WWE PLE, we will witness the two unlikely partners Roman Reigns and the current WWE Champion Cody Rhodes going up against Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu of The Bloodline.

This match announcement after the happenings of last night’s SmackDown season premiere on the USA Network. In the opening match of the night, Cody Rhodes defeated Solo Sikoa inside a steel cage to retain his WWE Championship.

Once the match was over, Jacob Fatu and the rest of the Bloodline attacked Rhodes, leading Reigns to come out for the save. After Tama Tonga and Tanga Loa were taken care of, Fatu entered the cage as he and Reigns had a staredown.

However, the two never went physical on each other as Fatu was pulled away by Sikoa before things could escalate. In an interview with Cathy Kelley, SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis first revealed the above-mentioned tag team match.

Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu had a challenge issued for Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes at Bad Blood, and the offer they had was hard to decline. Cody still refused to sign the contract stating that he was done with The Bloodline.

In the main event segment of SmackDown, Roman Reigns said that he didn’t need a contract or a tag team partner to remain The Tribal Chief in his WWE. Cody Rhodes then came out and stated that this isn’t his WWE, anymore.

The two men were about to fight when Solo Sikoa entered the scene with his cohorts. Roman took the contract and signed it. Cody then asked for the and put his sign to make the match official for Bad Blood.



The 2024 edition of WWE Bad Blood premium live event takes place at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia on Saturday, October 5, and the currently confirmed match card for the event goes as follows,

– Hell in a Cell Match: CM Punk vs. Drew McIntyre

– Women’s World Championship Match: Liv Morgan (c) vs. Rhea Ripley

– Damian Priest vs. Finn Balor
