WWE Battleground 2017 match card, schedule and prediction

New Delhi, July 23: The tradition of hosting the Battleground PPV began in the year 2013. So, the 2017 edition will mark the fifth event in this chronology.

This year, the event is hyped up with the returning Punjabi Prison match originated in India. The hellacious structure will be an added feature for the main event of the night.

Battleground will be hosted by the infamous Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In combined, eight matches have been confirmed for the match card of the night excluding a random one on the kick-off show. Here is the full match card of Battleground with predictions:

Shinsuke Nakamura vs Baron Corbin

Prediction: Two of the fiercest striker in today's WWE will lock horns to give us a physical contest. Nakamura will pick up the win since he will set up the momentum for a marquee match at Summerslam.

The Usos vs the New Day (Smackdown tag team Championship)

Prediction: This match is going to be a 50-50 contest considering both the teams are filled with confidence. However, the championship advantage goes to the Usos and they are still the favorites to walk out as the reigning champs.

AJ Styles vs Kevin Owens (United States Championship)

Prediction: This will be the second edition of Styles vs. Owens dream match. The champion has just won the title two weeks ago. So, there's no way that he is going to lose it, this early. So, Styles will have a phenomenal title defense.

Breezango vs unknown tag team

Prediction: We can expect a surprise appearance who could be the Sanity from NXT or an alliance by Luke Harper & Eric Rowan to take on Breezango. The fashion police are likely to digest a loss here against the unpredictable opponents.



Sami Zayn vs Mike Kanellis (with Maria Kanellis)

Prediction: Following last week's Smackdown, this will be a rematch between these two. Mike and Maria are having all the momentums on their side, at this point and the creative is likely to keep it that way by handing Mike another win.

John Cena vs Rusev (Flag match)

Prediction: These two will renew their rivalry at Battleground. At this point, Rusev does need it a win, badly. This is his returning PPV match and a win will push him into the championship picture. So, he is the favorite one to win the bout.

Charlotte Flair vs Becky Lynch vs. Natalya vs. Tamina vs. Lana (fatal-5-way elimination match)

Prediction: Considering the winner will face Naomi at Summerslam, the creative team will save the best. So, the Queen of the WWE, Charlotte Flair is the likely winner of this contest who will be greeted by the fighting champion.

Jinder Mahal vs Randy Orton (WWE Championship Punjabi Prison match)

Prediction: The only new thing for this rematch at Battleground is the ominous structure, Punjabi Prison. To win the contest, the winner does not need any pinfall or submission. So, the Sing Brothers will come handy to help the champion to escape the cage earlier than Orton to retain the title.
