Bengaluru, Sep 22: WWE Backlash will always be historic and remembered by the WWE fans. It was the first-ever PPV hosted by a specific brand, Smackdown.
In addition, we have seen three new champions crowning at the PPV. The show kicked off with a huge six pack challenge for the Smackdown Women's championship. Becky Lynch became the first-ever Women's champion in the history of the blue brand.
After years of hard work and dedication the Irish Lady achieved the big gold that she deserved a long time ago.
Now that she's become the face of the Women's division on Smackdown, she is all excited to take her A-game to the next level.
The crowd loves the Irish Lass-kicker and filled her winning moment with “you deserve it" chants. She is next scheduled to defend her title against Alexa Bliss at the No Mercy PPV. This is supposed to be a great match and winning the bout will establish Becky as a great champion.
Recently, Becky sat for an interview with the voice of the WWE, Michael Cole and could not resist her excitement, “It still doesn't feel real. The next day over breakfast, I wrote everything down but it still hasn't hit me. It meant a lot that I was the first.
"You go down in the history books. The big ones have eluded me, but this meant everything to me. I feel pressure, but it's a good pressure. It's one that I feel I'm ready for and one that I'm destined for."
Becky has also played her heel persona back in the NXT. However, her appeal as a babyface is universal to all of the fans.
She is a genuinely a kind-hearted girl and WWE can use her honesty to build as a brand. With the Women's revolution going on, a couple of good matches and title defenses will cement her legacy. So, she could not hesitate to talk about the women main eventing Wrestlemania 33.
“I don't see a reason why we all couldn't main event WrestleMania next year. That's the next step. Once you've reached one goal you're onto the next and we've got to keep working hard to achieve that.
"I never really stop to celebrate each step, because I'm always looking to what's next, but it's one thing to get to a certain level but we have to also maintain that. But you never know what will happen, it would be an amazing moment for all of us for sure."
Many mainstream media covered the Backlash PPVs results including Becky's title win which is a good indication of Becky's acceptance among the masses.
Becky was excited with the fact and said that multiple angles in Women's division show that people are all excited to see the women's wrestling in a good capacity.
“I've always asked why should there only be one women's storyline? There's always more than one for the guys, why not for the girls? Why is there only one women's match on a pay-per-view?
There are a lot of girls who've got issues with each other and we're all fighting for something. I think it's great, the brand extension has been great for that and it brings out that competition."
