WWE: Big planning around the new women’s factions on Raw and Smackdown

New Delhi, Dec 10: The landscape of the WWE women's division was turned upside down just after the Survivor Series PPV. We got five new additions from NXT to the main roster. Also, the former Divas Champion and one of the cornerstones of the Women's Revolution, Paige came back to lead the change.

On WWE Raw, she was the leader for the two newbies, Mandy Rose and Sony Deville to form a faction. It was later named The Absolution by the anti-Diva who went on to decimate the prime names present on the roster with multiple attacks. The number games were always in favour of the group.

Over on Smackdown Live, Ruby Riott from NXT acted as the leader for two of the other names who barely got TV time, prior to this. Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan debuted under her wings as the counterpart from Raw to deliver ambush to the Smackdown women's division under the name, The Riott Squad.

Now, both these groups are dominating the red and blue brand. This is also being considered as a breath of fresh air in the storyline perspective for the female roster. Going forward, more impactful angles might be stored for them according to the recent reports.

Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that owing to the new debuts the planning was changed on Smackdown Live. Previously, the planning was that Natalya will be out of the title picture once Charlotte won it. Tamina Snuka was the one to be the new contender for the championship and involve in a feud against the champion.



This might be the reason why Lana was spotted grooming her in the recent past. But, with the Riott Squad arriving, this plan was scrapped. Charlotte was attacked by the group on multiple occasions to start a storyline angle. So, once Clash of Champions passes by, Ruby Riott might get a title opportunity against the Queen.

The same can be assumed on WWE Raw, as well. The Absolution is supposed to be presented as the female version of the Shield, going forward which will be a path-breaking concept. Also, with this strong push, it's just a matter of time that Paige receives a championship shot, sooner.
