Bengaluru, Jan 8: Ever since WWE has decided for the brand split, we have got brand exclusive PPVs from Raw and Smackdown.
This is of course except for the four big PPVs in the calendar that is Wrestlemania, Summerslam, Royal Rumble and Survivor Series where both the brands can take part.
Going forward in 2017, we might get one more PPV added to the dual brand PPV list.
In a recent report from wrestlezone.com suggested that during the recent WWE Live event in St. Louis, MO, the arena is advertising for the upcoming Money in the Bank PPV in 2017. The event will take place on 18th June in 2017.
As per the concept of the Money in the Bank ladder match, superstars from both the brand should be given opportunities for earning the briefcase that is hanging high above from the ring.
Considering the fact that we have got two separate champions on both the brands, we should have two separate ladder matches from Raw & Smackdown.
When this match was born, then we used to have only one single Money in the Bank match at Wrestlemania.
With the increasing amount of popularity around the gimmick, WWE started a full-fledged PPV around this match from 2010 onwards.
From then onwards, we have got dual ladder matches for Raw and Smackdown until 2013.
We do not know if WWE will make it a dual brand PPV or not. Going by the recent reports, WWE might leave the idea of conducting brand exclusive PPVs since it has not been able to generate enough buzz.
Hence, they decide to arrange fewer PPVs in 2017 calendar where we will see matches from both the brands.
Also, we should remember the fact that WWE is back to its old concept of having two champions in two different brands.
Hence, two separate Money in the Bank ladder matches is indeed needed. It means they will need more star powers to fill up the matches which are literally impossible with superstars from one single brand.
Nothing regarding this matter is confirmed for now and we have to wait for a further update from WWE.
