Brock Lesnar was not willing to face Shane at Wrestlemania knowing that his opponent will be someone much weaker than him.

Bengaluru, Mar 16: Brock Lesnar is all set to main event Wrestlemania, once again by featuring in the match against Goldberg.

The final bout was confirmed even one month prior to this but in recent times it has converted into a title match.

Now, going by the recent reports, Brock Lesnar's actual opponent at Wrestlemania was someone else. WWE creative even finalized the plan after Summerslam 2016 was over.

At that event, Lesnar created mayhem by putting away Randy Orton in the nastiest way possible. He left his opponent lying in a pool of blood.

Shane McMahon came running in to stop the beast but ate a huge F-5. This planted the seeds of these twos Wrestlemania feud.

WWE creative sanctioned the match between Shane and Brock, afterward. As a result, the Smackdown commissioner mentioned the topic, going forward. He also clarified that his rivalry with the beast is far from over.

But, Lesnar was not willing to face Shane at Wrestlemania knowing that his opponent will be someone much weaker than him.

This would not portray his dominant persona at the grandest stage of them all. Even at last year's Wrestlemania, the same happened after WWE arranged him a match with Dean Ambrose.

At this point, Goldberg signed with the company for one match. Brock saw money in this one and convinced Vince McMahon to stretch the feud until Mania.

As per reports from Dave Meltzer, at this point, Lesnar even forced the creative to arrange this match at Wrestlemania. This is what the wrestling pundit stated in his report:

"Brock was able to get himself out of that match [against Shane], which he certainly didn't want to do, Shane was gonna work with somebody, so he's gonna pick the best guy in the company."

To get himself out of the Shane McMahon match, Brock even agreed to do the squash match against Goldberg so that the third and final match can occur at Wrestlemania.

Thus, we have reached to this year's main event. Shane, on the other hand, will be seen in a match against AJ Styles.
