Bengaluru, November 23: The WWE Survivor Series PPV has just passed us by and this was the last dual brand PPV for the year 2017. However, there will be one last PPV which will be a brand-specific event which Smackdown Live will host next month.

During the Survivor Series PPV, it was confirmed that the annual Clash of Champions PPV will be the last PPV event in WWE calendar. On December 17th, the show will be hosted at the TD Gardens in Boston, Massachusetts.

The promotions for this event kicked off on this past edition of Smackdown Live.

We learned about the WWE Championship match that will headline the PPV event. As we all know that Jinder Mahal lost the championship during the Manchester edition of Smackdown Live, AJ Styles was the one to dethrone him and become the new title-holder on the show. So, Jinder is due a title rematch.

Apparently, the match was about to take place on this week's Tuesday Night show. It was also announced during Sunday's PPV but Jinder Mahal was not ready to accept the title challenge thrown by the phenomenal one and instead chose the Clash of Champions PPV for the rematch.

As per his words, the Modern-day Maharaja will invoke his rematch clause at the last PPV of the year. So the much-anticipated rematch between the pair will happen in mid-December. AJ Styles accepted the challenge and WWE.com made the match official with the following quotes,

“Styles was all for having their title match then and there, but Mahal decided instead to bide his time and wait until WWE Clash of Champions for the championship bout. Tune in to see who emerges with the WWE Title at WWE Clash of Champions, streaming live Sunday, Dec. 17, at 8 ET/5 PT on the award-winning WWE Network.”

With that being said, the rivalry between these two will be the stand-out feud of the blue brand for the rest of this year. This is also expected to be the main event for Clash of Champions PPV. By that time, Jinder Mahal will be done with his match against Triple H at the WWE Live in India.
