WWE COO Triple H to compete in Royal Rumble and Wrestlemania

Bengaluru, December 20: WWE COO Triple H is set to be involved in big matches at the Royal Rumble and Wrestlemania 34, according to reports from PWInsider.com.

Triple H returned to WWE TV during the pre-Survivor Series episode of Monday Night Raw and was included in the traditional tag team elimination match as part of team Raw. The flagship show benefitted from it a lot as he turned out to be the sole survivor alongside Braun Strowman in that match.

But, in the process, he started feuds with two of his own teammates, prior to the finish, The Game delivered a pedigree to Kurt Angle who was also Raw's team captain.

Apart from this betrayal, Triple H also stole the spotlight during the finish from Braun Strowman who was in control of the match for the better part. He was the one who hit another pedigree on Shane McMahon to lead his team to victory. But, Braun was furious for not getting the final pinfall of the match.

This brought a vicious assault from the monster among men on the WWE COO. Apparently, this was a setup for the cerebral assassin of the WWE to have some marquee matches in upcoming dual brand PPVs. PWInsider.com gave an update on Triple H's probable opponents.

As per the source, The Game will be in action at the Royal Rumble PPV and Kurt Angle is the most likely opponent for him in the first big PPV in 2018. The pair have already had a confrontation on WWE Raw where the GM threatened Triple H for his actions and this heat is said to be carried forward setting up the big match.

Previously, this renewal of a feud from the Attitude Era was likely to be initiated during the Wrestlemania season. But, the plans might have changed with the 14-time world champion coming back to in-ring action much earlier than expected.

The source also hinted that once the match against Kurt Angle is over at Royal Rumble, Triple H will engage in a full-fledged feud against Braun Strowman to book a big match at Wrestlemania. For now, Strowman will continue his rivalry with Kane and fight for the Universal title at the Rumble.
