Bengaluru, August 30: WWE Smackdown has begun a norm of their own to give the fans some dream matches on a regular basis. It looks like there is no stopping them as the fans will get to witness another one next week.

The first match in this series took place between Randy Orton and AJ Styles back in February to determine that who will face Bray Wyatt for the WWE Championship at Wrestlemania.

Later, we got two more such matches after John Cena returned to the brand in July. He had the much-anticipated match against Shinsuke Nakamura prior to Summerslam. In addition, the franchise player also had a bout against the WWE Champion, Jinder Mahal.

In addition, next week, we will witness Randy Orton taking on Shinsuke Nakamura in the main event of Smackdown. The match will be contested to determine the number one contender’s spot for the WWE Championship. The winner will get a title match against Jinder Mahal in the future.

The news first broke from the twitter handle of the WWE whereas the official website later confirmed the same with the following quotes:

“A monumental first-time-ever battle will determine the next challenger for Jinder Mahal’s WWE Championship. Randy Orton and Shinsuke Nakamura will collide for the huge opportunity next Tuesday on SmackDown LIVE.

"Both Orton and Nakamura got measures of payback on Mahal and his crew in recent weeks, but still, want the WWE Championship more than anything. Only one Superstar will earn the right to challenge Jinder Mahal.

"Who will it be: The Viper or The Artist Known as Shinsuke Nakamura? Find out next Tuesday on SmackDown LIVE at 8/7 C on USA Network!”

There’s no denying that both Orton and Nakamura are two of the most popular superstars in the pro-wrestling industry. The Viper has only worked soley in the company, while, The Artist earned fame by performing in Japan. So, the chances of this match happening were made possible by bringing Nakamura to the blue brand.

As of now, Randy Orton has a clear advantage over Nakamura as he was able to hit an RKO while closing this week’s Smackdown. It will be interesting to see whether he can defeat The King of Strong Styles to emerge as the new number one contender next week.
