WWE Fastlane PPV main event match revealed

Bengaluru, January 25: AJ Styles will defend his WWE Championship in the main event of the Fastlane PPV in a Fatal-5-way match, according to the official website of the Nationwide Arena.

According to the WWE PPV calendar in 2018, WWE Fastlane has been able to keep its place intact in the original slot. It was retained as the final PPV event prior to Wrestlemania. Since WWE Raw was the host of this show, last year, this year Smackdown will get to host setting up the big matches for the biggest event of the year.

As per a recent announcement, Fastlane PPV in 2018 will be hosted for the first time in the state of Columbus, Ohio. The venue of the show will be the Nationwide Arena on March 11th. The ticket sales for this Smackdown-exclusive show has been out for a while.

To promote the night, the arena has already started giving some spoilers of the main event match to take place on that night. They have revealed that AJ Styles will be defending his WWE Championship in the last match of the card. But, there will be multiple challengers pitted against him making it a Fatal-5-way match.

With this match set to feature multiple men, it is likely that AJ Styles will continue to be the champion until March. The reigning champion will be defending his title at the Royal Rumble PPV on January 28th. But, if this advertisement of Fastlane is any indication then there’s no way that Styles will lose his title, anytime soon.

It is also likely that WWE might be heading towards the dream match between AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura at Wrestlemania 34. This is why we could see The Artist involved in the championship capacity just prior to the showcase of immortals.

At this stage, all of these are rumours and nothing has been officially confirmed regarding Fastlane, WWE will only make any announcement after the Royal Rumble PPV.
