
Bengaluru, February 18: An Intercontinental Championship match main-evented the Elimination Chamber go-home episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown.
A Raw vs. Smackdown exhibition match between Asuka and Liv Morgan was on the show where Ronda Rousey returned to action. Also, Drew McIntyre and Sheamus went to war with the Vikings Raiders.
Check out the recap and results from the February 17 episode of Friday Night Smackdown that took place at the Bell Center in Montreal, Quebec, Canada:
- SmackDown kicked off with a tribute video package for the late great Jerry Jarrett.
- Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler defeated Natalya and Shotzi in the opening tag team match. Nattie had Rousey trapped in the Sharpshooter but Baszler broke things up.
Shotzi got the tag as she and Nattie went for the Hart Attack. But Shotzi tripped Nattie as Ronda locked in the Arm-Bar Submission on Shotzi for the submission win.
- Hit Row appeared in the ring for a rap session but Bray Wyatt and Uncle Howdy interrupted and took them out of the ring.
Bray then said that he will now be going after the winner of Brock Lesnar vs. Bobby Lashley at Elimination Chamber for a WrestleMania 39 match.
- Drew McIntyre and Sheamus defeated The Viking Raiders (Erik and Ivar) in a tag team match. Valhalla's distraction allowed The Vikings to set up for a Ragnarok on McIntyre.
But Sheamus saved the day for his buddy by hitting a Brogue Kick on Ivar. McIntyre soon followed up with a Claymore Kick on Erik for the pin-fall win.
- In a backstage segment, Karrion Kross again confronted Rey Mysterio. Kross stated that he ruled out becoming a father after seeing the disrespect that Dominik has for Rey.
- Asuka defeated Liv Morgan with other Elimination Chamber match participants surrounding the ring. After a missile dropkick, Morgan hit a Codebreaker off the ropes.
Asuka kicked out of the pin attempt and transitioned right into an arm-shoulder submission, forcing Morgan to tap out. After the match, the Chamber match participants engaged in a brawl.
- GUNTHER (c) defeated Madcap Moss (with Emma) to retain the Intercontinental Championship. Kicking out of a Fallaway Slam, GUNTHER applied a Chin-lock submission on Moss before pinning him with a powerbomb.
- Sami Zayn came out in the final segment of Smackdown to his old "Worlds Apart" theme song to a thunderous reception from his hometown crowd.
Zayn said in a once-in-a-lifetime match, tomorrow night, Roman Reigns will battle not only Sami Zayn but also the entire city of Montreal. Zayn vowed to win the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship to end the show.
