WWE Great American Bash 2024: Title Match announced NXT Specials

The next themed episode under the WWE NXT banner will be the 2024 edition of Great American Bash and it will have the NXT Women's Championship match on the card where the champion defends against a Chase U member.

NXT Women's Champion Roxanne Perez announced during this week's episode of NXT that she will defend her title against Thea Hail at the Great American Bash. This came after a fiery promo where Perez claimed to be on a level above everyone.

Perez noted that she was not competing with anyone in the current NXT locker room, but rather with those in the history books. One of the all-time greats, Charlotte Flair was dragged through her words who had her first NXT match 11 years ago.

In addition, the newest WWE NXT signees Stephanie Vaquer and Giulia were also mentioned by Perez until Hail interrupted and exchanged some strong words with her before things got physical between the two.

Hail was able to lock in Perez in an arm-bar submission before Ridge Holland pulled her off the Women's Champion. Following the segment, the match was officially announced for Great American Bash set within two weeks from now.

Initially, Bash was announced for the first week of August as part of the SummerSlam 2024 week. But now, it will be a two-night TV special scheduled for July 30 and August 6. Both nights will air on SYFY instead of the USA Network due to Olympics coverage.

Thus far, the only match confirmed for The 2024 Great American Bash is Roxanne Perez defending her NXT Women's Championship against Thea Hail. Perez previously defended her title against Lola Vice at NXT Heatwave, earlier this month.

Returning in 2020, this will be the fifth year in a row that NXT will air a Great American Bash special. Originally, this event was an old-school tradition from the eighties with the NWA and later in WCW.

Last year's Great American Bash streamed on Peacock/WWE Network and was headlined by Carmelo Hayes defending the NXT Championship against Ilja Dragunov and Tiffany Stratton defending the NXT Women's Championship against Thea Hail.
