"I don’t have much time left in the WWE" - John Cena on what’s next in his wrestling career

John Cena is often officially touted to be the "greatest of all time" by the WWE on their TV broadcast as he's been the franchise player for the company for the longest tenure.

In the Fall of 2023, the 16-time world champion made a WWE return for a full-time schedule which caught many of the fans by surprise given his commitments to Hollywood. It appears that the bygone stint could be his final full-time run in the WWE.

Previous reports claimed that the SAG-AFTRA Strike facilitated the opportunity for that comeback, as Hollywood fully came to a halt. Now that productions are going in full force, the veteran is uncertain about what the future holds for him in wrestling.

During a new interview with People Magazine, John Cena was asked about his current status when it comes to the WWE. In reply, he essentially mentioned bringing closure to the brand that gave him everything.

"I turned 46 this past year and I don't have much time left in the WWE. I think it's just the demand of age. You know, I'm trying to figure out when to close that chapter."

Further proceeding in the conversation, John Cena was clear about feeling the effect of recent surgeries especially since he turned 45. He further thanked the fans for all the support and wanted the best for the WWE.

"If it's a big final match or if it's just a final match, or however I can be integrated into the product to let everyone know that this chapter is over, I'm willing to listen to what WWE has to say."

John Cena had two separate stints in the WWE in 2023. In his first run, he only made two appearances. One of them came in an episode of Raw to set up a match against Austin Theory for the United States Championship at WrestleMania 39.

The Cenation Leader then performed in India in a Live Event where he teamed up with World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins to defeat Ludwig Kaiser & Giovanni Vinci of Imperium in what marked Cena's first-ever match in India.

In mainstay WWE programming, Cena Cena teamed up with LA Knight to defeat Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa of The Bloodline in a tag team match at Fastlane before wrapping up the stint at Crown Jewel after losing to Solo Sikoa.
