WWE: John Cena to take a long hiatus after Wrestlemania

Bengaluru, April 5: John Cena's role of turning into a part-timer does not look to come to an end, anytime soon.

He was absent for the better part of the year 2016 and starting from now he is at it, again. Whether he tries to defend the fact numerous times, his upcoming schedule might not let it happen.

As per a report from wrestlezone.com, the franchise of the company has taken a hiatus just after WWE is done wrapping up the Wrestlemania season.

He had already left WWE and this time the hiatus will be for eight long months. This is the reason he was not present on Smackdown Live.

If the source is to be believed then John Cena is not being advertised for any of the show for the post-Wrestlemania season leading to the speculation.

The advertisements indicate that he will be back for the last big PPV of the year 2017 i.e. Survivor Series which will be hosted in Houston, Texas.

This is a big update regarding Cena's career at this point. Previously when he was away from the company, there were some speculations over WWE Creative being frustrated for his transitioning role in the company.

But, now with these future bookings surfacing on the internet, it is clear that both the parties have come to the agreement that he will be working for the big event season only.

He will be missing the European tour of the WWE in the post-Wrestlemania season and the second-biggest PPV of the year i.e. Summerslam in August.

Prior to that, there will be another Smackdown-exclusive PPV in the month June which is Money in the Bank which will not witness him either. Plus, he might not be a part of the WWE Draft, as well.

It will be a big concern for the blue bandwagon of the WWE who might struggle to come up with different option due to the absence of the marquee player on the roster.

This will be creating a big void on the roster which should be filled by the newer talents, in turn.
