Bengaluru, March 7: WWE is set for their first visit of 2023 to Saudi Arabia as the world's biggest wrestling promotion has announced the next event in the Middle Eastern country.

WWE in cooperation with the General Entertainment Authority (GSA) on Monday (March 6) night announced that the WWE King and Queen Of The Ring will be held at the Jeddah Superdome, the world's largest pillarless Superdome, on Saturday, May 27, 2023.

WWE King and Queen Of The Ring is set to happen in Jeddah, alongside a host of additional exciting events happening in Jeddah throughout the year.

This marks the first King Of The Ring Premium Live Event to be held since 2015 and the first crowning of a Queen since the inaugural Queen's Crown Tournament which took place at WWE Crown Jewel in Riyadh in 2021.

King of the Ring is usually contested via a knockout tournament held across Raw and SmackDown with the final few rounds taking place at the premium live event. That tradition is likely to be continued this time as well.

So, a few matches and storyline for the event is expected to trigger right after the WrestleMania event in April. The men's and women's tournaments are expected to start in weeks leading up to the PLE in Saudi Arabia.

This will also be the ninth pay-per-view or premium live event to be held in Saudi Arabia since the 10-year strategic partnership deal was struck with the GSA in 2018.

While this will be the first King and Queen of the Ring PLE in Saudi Arabia, the Middle East country has played hosts to two Super Showdown events (2019 & 2020), four Crown Jewel events (2018, 2019, 2021 & 2022), and one Greatest Royal Rumble (2018) and Elimination Chamber (2022) event so far.

More details on WWE King and Queen Of The Ring will be announced in the coming weeks as the promotion prepares for the show of shows - WrestleMania 39 which is just under three weeks from now.
