WWE King & Queen of the Ring 2024: Three Superstars declared for men’s tournament

WWE is bringing back the old-school King of the Ring tournament as part of the King & Queen of the Ring premium live event scheduled for next month in Saudi Arabia. Now the initial names for one of the tourneys have been declared.

On the latest episode of Monday Night Raw, Drew McIntyre, Gunther, and Xavier Woods declared their entry into the 2024 King of the Ring tournament which will be the men's edition to crown the new King of the Ring winner.

In a video promo aired for the tournament on Raw, it was explained that a tournament via a series of matches will go down on WWE television on a weekly basis with the finals to be held at the Saudi PLE.

Gunther made his first appearance on Raw since his WrestleMania 40 loss and said he elevated the Intercontinental Championship to heights it had never seen before. He thanked Sami Zayn for taking the title as well as the weight from his shoulders.

Gunther then officially announced his participation in the King of the Ring tournament and after winning it, he'll decide which title he wants next. The New Day interrupted Gunther and Xavier Woods claimed that he was entering the tourney hoping to win for the second time.

In a promo later on Raw, Drew McIntyre addressed CM Punk costing him to go after the World Heavyweight Title. Refocusing on his goals, he announced that he was also setting his sights on winning the King of the Ring tournament.

Thus three names have entered for King of the Ring 2024 edition while an official bracket for the same is yet to be revealed. There's no update on the Queen of the Ring tournament and possible names who will be seen in it.

As first reported by Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, both these tournament finals will be held at the King & Queen of the Ring PLE set for Saturday, May 27 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. WWE later confirmed the info to be true.
