WWE King and Queen of the Ring 2024 winners to receive championship shots

The old-school King of the Ring tournament is returning this weekend alongside the female iteration to produce a separate WWE premium live event in Saudi Arabia. Less than 48 hours away from the show the stakes for the winners have got amped up.

WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H made a big announcement regarding the winners of the King and Queen of the Ring tournaments during a press conference in Saudi Arabia, last night and revealed the bonus gift for them.

The revelation says that the winners of the King and Queen of the Ring tournaments will both receive Men's and Women's World Title shots at SummerSlam premium live event set for August 3rd in Cleveland, Ohio from the Cleveland Browns Stadium.

"I'll let all of you know tonight that the winner of the King of the Ring tournament and the winner of the Queen of the Ring tournament will both go on to receive championship matches with the title of their respective brands," Triple H stated.

At this point, Damian Priest and Becky Lynch are the respective men's and women's world champions on the Raw brand. From SmackDown, Cody Rhodes and Bayley are the WWE and Women's Champions, respectively.

Given that there are multiple PLEs are there on the WWE schedule including Money in the Bank which often produces new champions, there should be new title-holders on the red or blue brand as we head toward SummerSlam.

As for King and Queen of the Ring tournaments, the last two semifinal matches are scheduled for tonight's episode of WWE SmackDown, which will take place in Jeddah marking an international episode of the TV program.

The lineups stand Tama Tonga vs. Randy Orton and Nia Jax vs. Bianca Belair and the winners of these matches will respectively face Gunther and Lyra Valkyria from the Raw brand as they have already qualified for the finals.

As mentioned above, both the King and Queen of the Ring tournament finals will take place at the WWE King & Queen of the Ring premium live event at the Jeddah Superdome in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on Saturday, May 25. The match card for the show is given below:

  • Undisputed WWE Championship: Cody Rhodes vs. United States Champion Logan Paul
