That's not all for him since he has also accepted the challenge made by Brock Lesnar and these two will be locking horns at Wrestlemania. He is supposed to feature in the main event scene because Owens is expected to drop the title to the legend at Fastlane. This also means that Lesnar vs. Goldberg will be contested for the Universal championship.

The original planning with the former WCW franchise was much different. He was contracted by WWE for a just one-off match against Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series. He was originally planned to digest a loss at the PPV to end his in-ring career and inducted into the Hall of Fame, class of 2017.

However, the overwhelming fan support changed all of that and Vince McMahon wanted a replacement for the Hall of Fame. Kurt Angle was fitted into the slot and we got the announcement in the month of January. Even the Smackdown GM, Daniel Bryan was considered to be inducted into the Hall of fame but that got canceled.

Kurt Angle will return to WWE TV as part of the WWE's annual Hall of Fame event on March 31st of this year. Upon the conclusion of the Wrestlemania week, he is supposed to be given a TV role in the WWE.

This is most probably going to be the GM's role replacing Mick Foley.

Goldberg, on the other hand, is not expected to work with WWE after Wrestlemania season. He is likely to drop the Universal title to Brock Lesnar during their last bout.

It will be the first time since 2003 that Goldberg will feature in a championship match in the WWE. It was a triple threat match at WWE Armageddon where he lost the World title to Triple H in that year.
