WWE: Marriage with Nikki Bella still on, John Cena confirms

Bengaluru, February 10: A year since WWE superstar John Cena proposed to long-time girlfriend and WWE diva Nikki Bella in front of fans on Wrestlemania, Cena has admitted that they are working on fixing their rocky relationship. Cena also clarified that their marriage is still on.

When Cena went down on his knees and asked Bella if she would marry him during Wrestlemania 33 on April 2, 2017, a real-life engagement took place on live television for the first time on WWE. The first couple of the WWE have been preparing for their big fat wedding since then. However, in recent times, the couple seem to be having a tough time with each other. Rumours have also suggested that their relationship has been called off.

But Cena, appearing on TODAY, clarified that he and Bella are working on their relationship. "I think in relationships, you have highs and lows, and that was an extreme low. You have two choices. You either jump ship and start a new relationship or move forward and try to work through it. We're gonna move forward and try to work through it," he said.

Rumours about their break up started after both could not agree upon a date for their wedding. The recently-released trailer of the Total Bellas season three, which will hit the TV screens this spring, fuelled the rumours further. In the aired promo, Nikki Bella shares an intimate moment with her man. But seconds later in the promo, she is seen teary-eyed, which suggested that marriage might have already been called off due to private reasons.

Cena's statements in the interview, however, suggest otherwise. The 16-time world champion confirmed that the marriage is still on as he is willing to fight it out to keep it alive. "The underlying theme here, guys and gals-especially with Valentine's day coming up-don't give up. If it's something that's really genuinely that meaningful to you, you will find a way to make it work. And I am determined-through thick and thin-to find a way to make it work," he said.

Furthermore, the franchise player of the company also declared that he was initially not interested to propose to her on the ring itself as he preferred to keep the moment private. But the Bella Twins, being loyal to their fans, wanted to telecast both good and bad moments of their lives.
