Bengaluru, December 5: WWE Monday Night Raw went Hollywood this week with a big championship match in-store for the main event as well as an exciting fatal-4-way match to determine the Cruiserweight championship's number one contender.
Plus, a new rivalry for the Intercontinental Championship also kicked off on the show hosted by the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.
The show opened with Kurt Angle who wanted to add hype to the show only to be interrupted by Jason Jordan, who demanded an Intercontinental title shot. The same request was made by Samoa Joe with Roman Reigns also in the ring. In a heated segment, Jordan hit Reigns with a back suplex to set up the IC title match later on in the show.
Jason Jordan took the Big Dog to a certain limit but his injured knee gave up at the end of the contest which allowed Roman Reigns to connect a superman punch and followed it with his finisher, the spear to pick up the pinfall victory.
In the aftermath, Samoa Joe tried to ambush Reigns but received a suplex instead. Reigns then hit another punch for Jordan to end the segment.
Jason Jordan was furious with this and vented his frustrations at Kurt Angle and also demanded for a rematch against Roman Reigns for the title. The request was declined by the GM when Samoa Joe appeared out of nowhere to deliver a suplex to Jordan in the backstage area.
Next up, Paige with her partners at ringside had her first singles match since her return to WWE Raw against Sasha Banks, who was backed up by Bayley and Mickie James backed. A brawl broke out at ringside area which distracted The Boss to let Paige hit the ram-paige and pick up the win.
Matt Hardy had a promo segment against Bray Wyatt on the titantron in his 'Woken' avatar to the delight of the fans.
In the fatal-4-way to get a chance at the Crusiserweight title, Drew Gulak picked up a very important win.
Asuka defeated Alicia Fox in a squash match after which Paige appeared to tease an attack. However, she let Asuka go away and focused solely on Alicia.
Finn Balor defeated Bo Dallas in a dull singles contest.
Elias wanted to sing a song for the Los Angeles crowd but got interrupted by Braun Strowman who attacked him before Kane appeared on the tron to cut a promo and make a match official for next week against Strowman.
In the main event of WWE Raw, The Bar and The Shield had an exciting matchup. It was disqualified at one point but the GM Kurt Angle restarted it under no disqualification rules. Samoa Joe and Roman Reigns interfered in the match which led to a brawl, this distraction allowed Sheamus to hit the Brogue Kick to get the pinfall win and retain the tag championship.
