WWE Money in the Bank 2023: Spoiler on the winner of women’s MITB ladder match

Bengaluru, June 16: Money in the Bank is scheduled on WWE programming within 15 days from now and the anticipation is gradually building up amongst the fans for the gimmick-based event to get hints about future world champions.

From the women's division, six participants will be competing for the coveted briefcase and five such names have been confirmed - Becky Lynch & Zoey Stark from Raw and IYO SKY, Zelina Vega and Bayley from SmackDown.

According to the insider source BWE, IYO SKY is the top contender to win the Women's Money in the Bank ladder match. SKY has also been the betting favorite to win since entering the fray.

Here's what BWE had to offer through their private Twitter account, "IYO is still top contender as #1 however there are few ideas on the table that could start on SD. Will confirm later."

A recent report from Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated states that WWE Officials have had recent discussions about a potential babyface turn for the Japanese superstar to fit her into the championship picture on SmackDown.

It would begin with an obvious feud between SKY and her DAMAGE CTRL stablemate Bayley. The two will be in the same Money in the Bank ladder match from where the bad blood is likely to pick up between the two.

The third member of DAMAGE CTRL, Dakota Kai is out with a torn ACL and she's expected to miss several months before returning. Hence, the long-rumoured breakup of the faction should be solidified with SKY vs. Bayley feud.

Moreover, speculations also suggest that WWE Women's Champion Asuka will put over to a young talent on Smackdown when she will eventually have to drop her title. IYO SKY is the perfect option to receive that baton from her.

Since both superstars are billed from Japan, this feud would be unique and fresh on WWE programming. SKY could be cashing in his Money in the Bank contract on Asuka to start the program.

To date, SKY only has competed in one singles championship match which happened at Backlash in early May against Bianca Belair. Despite being a heel and coming up short, SKY received tremendous support from the fans, that night.

WWE Officials were impressed with SKY and they want to utilize her as a top and organic babyface just like she used to be on NXT as the developmental brand's women's champion.
