Bengaluru, Oct 10: As suggested by several sources, the main event for this year's Survivor Series is all set. Goldberg will make his return taking on the beast incarnate, Brock Lesnar at the last big PPV of the year, Survivor Series in the month of November.
Some days earlier, Goldberg appeared on the ESPN Sportscenter with Jonathon Coachman to address his status with WWE.
Many speculated that this will be the occasion when the former WCW franchise will officially announce his return to the WWE.
However, that did not turn to be true when he kept on teasing with negative things and even stated that he had not met with Vince McMahon since the day he left the company twelve years ago.
He commented, “I'm an old man, here, I'm 49 years old. A guy like Ric Flair at 49 can go out and do his character, a guy at 49 to go out and do Goldberg again?
"I don't know what the odds are. I want the ability to be that guy again, but there's a compromise there. To be that guy at 49 years old, do you risk losing your legacy?"
But in reality. the scenario is totally opposite and he might have tried to hide the big returning news on the show.
Insiders suggest that WWE indeed wants to make the Goldberg vs. Brock Lesnar match happening at the Survivor Series PPV in order to promote the WWE 2K17 video game.
These two are the main promotional characters for this year's edition of the WWE & 2K's partnership. In addition, Paul Heyman too posted a tweet addressing Goldberg.
Once this match is over, Brock Lesnar will take some time off only to return by the time of the Royal Rumble PPV in order to hype his feud with the next Wrestlemania opponent.
Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer newsletter has also noted that WWE has already finalized Lesnar's Wrestlemania opponent and we will get to know it by Royal Rumble.
Shane McMahon is the rumored opponent, as of now. The feud that he picked up with Smackdown's commissioner is likely to culminate at Wrestlemania 33.
The beat has hit Shane with an F-5 at Summerslam and he said that the rivalry is far from over. So, it's only a matter of time when the feud gets resumed.
