WWE Netflix Debut in India Date Revealed, RAW, SmackDown & More to Air Live on OTT Platform Before WrestleMania 41

By MyKhel Staff

WWE Netflix India Debut Date: After premiering on Netflix in several parts of the world earlier this year with RAW, WWE is finally set to land on the OTT platform in India as the promotion officially revealed the debut the date for the evening airing in the country.

WWE's parent company, TKO Group Holdings, and Netflix signed a global 10-year deal worth $5 billion last year with the contract coming in to play earlier this year. And this new move to bring India into the fold was just another part of that deal.

WWE Netflix Debut in India revealed

While RAW, SmackDown, Premium Live Events and other shows aired on Netflix in most parts of the world, SmackDown and PLEs continued to air on USA Network and peacock respectively in the United States.

Sony Sports Pictures Network has been the home of the WWE in India for a very long time with events shown live on their channels and OTT platform - Sony LIV. But the fans in India will soon be tuning into Netflix for top quality wrestling action.

When will WWE start airing on Netflix in India?

Beginning April 1, 2025, Netflix will become the exclusive new home for WWE in India. As part of Netflix's long-term partnership with the sports entertainment company, Indian fans will be able to stream all of WWE's weekly flagship shows - Raw, NXT, and SmackDown - as well as WWE's Premium Live Events including SummerSlam, Money in the Bank, Royal Rumble and the upcoming WrestleMania.

Created for fans and presented live and in living colour, Netflix steps into the ring with WWE, showcasing serialized storytelling and high-adrenaline action three times a week (Raw, NXT, and SmackDown), 52 weeks a year. Blending the best of scripted content with unpredictable live entertainment, members in India will also enjoy live Hindi commentary.

Netflix had last month confirmed that WWE will move to their OTT platform in India. And that was further confirmed by WWE Chief Content Officer Paul "Triple H" Levesque, who made a special announcement video welcoming Indian fans to the "Netflix era" to commemorate this momentous occasion.

As per the WWE statement, "Through this partnership, WWE fans in India will have seamless and immersive access to all WWE programming. Netflix will also feature new and exclusive archival content from the WWE vault, and the ability to stream live or on demand.

"With a devoted wrestling fanbase, India has been one of WWE's most engaged international markets. Through Netflix, WWE will reach even more fans with its unmatched combination of athleticism, drama, and larger-than-life storytelling. Are you ready? WWE streams live in India from April 1, only on Netflix."

What does this mean for Sony and WWE in India?

Sony Sports TEN channels will continue to show - RAW, SmackDown, NXT and other events live in India till March 31. But post that date from April 1, all the shows will stream live on Netflix. This means WWE fans in India will need to subscribe to Netflix to follow all the live action from the ring.

This move will certainly see WWE lose some loyal audience in India, especially in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, where accessibility and low costs have always been key as fans are used to catching their favourite wrestling matches on cable or the much cheaper SonyLIV app.

It will certainly be interesting to see if there is another TV deal in which some of the WWE shows will be shown on Sony Sports Network channels or any other network. As it stands, there is no information on Sony continuing broadcast from April 1. So, fans in India will need Netflix subscricption to watch WWE action, including WrestleMania 41.
