WWE News: Two huge matches confirmed for Summerslam at Smackdown Live

Bengaluru, August 2: Last night's Smackdown Live was able to hype the upcoming Summerslam event in a bigger way with two huge marquee matches getting added to the card. The blue brand came up with two unpredictable scenarios on the evening to which the rumour mill had no clue.

The night kicked off with the United States Championship rematch between AJ Styles and Kevin Owens. We thought that the champion would retain by finishing the feud and go forward to host the United States open challenge at Summerslam.

Instead, we witnessed a controversial finish in which the referee counted three even when Kevin Owens shoulder was up and called for the bell. The contender went nuts with the decision and confronted the show runners to come up with a solution.

The General Manager confirmed that AJ Styles and Kevin Owens for the United States title will happen one more time with Shane McMahon acting as the special guest referee.

The blockbuster announcement sent the fans into a frenzy whereas Owens didn't seem too happy with this. This announcement also wiped out the chances of Shane competing against Owens at Summerslam.

Apart from this one match, Randy Orton returned big time on the show culminating a never-before-seen match at the biggest PPV of the summer. Rusev was celebrating in his own way yelling after his victory against Chad Gable and demanded a stronger opponent who could give him a real fight.

The Viper showed up accepting his challenge and proposed a matchup at Summerslam. Rusev backed down from it and went for a sneak attack. But, the Apex Predator of the WWE connected with an RKO, out of nowhere to floor him down.

Following this segment, WWE's Twitter handle let us know that this match will go down on August 20th which will mark the 15th appearance of Randy Orton at Summerslam event.
