Bengaluru, June 28: NXT's two-week spanned Gold Rush 2023 special entered history books, last night after delivering a plethora of championship matches. Both the NXT and NXT Women's Titles were on the line on the latest NXT episode.
In the opening contest of the 2023 NXT Gold Rush Night Two, Tiffany Stratton defeated Thea Hail to retain the NXT Women's Championship. The match witnessed a lot of shenanigans and the champion took advantage of this.

Duke Hudson was standing in the corner of Hail but Drew Gulak and Charley Dempsey arrived at ringside and distracted the referee. Hail had Stratton tapped out via the Kimura Lock but the referee never saw it.
Hail eventually loosened the force and went to talk to the referee. Stratton came from behind and rolled up Hail to pick up the win and retain her NXT Women's Championship. Andre Chase returned after the match to go after Gulak and Dempsey.
With this win, Tiffany went through her first title defense at NXT Gold Rush 2023. She won the title at NXT Battleground by defeating Lyra Valkyria in the finale of a tournament for the vacant title.
Indi Hartwell was the former champion who relinquished the belt after suffering an injury and her call-up to the main roster. To fill up her spot, WWE announced the above-mentioned tournament that culminated at Battleground.
Soon after that PLE in late May, Thea Hail won a 20-woman number-one contender's battle royal for the NXT Women's Championship to secure a title match against Stratton at NXT Gold Rush, this week.
Being just 19 years old, Hail had the opportunity to become the youngest-reigning champion in WWE history by toppling Paige's earlier record from 2012. Ultimately, she came up short and NXT's Tiffy-time still continues.
Speaking of continuation, NXT Championship Carmelo Hayes' title reign is also intact following the latest Gold Rush edition on NXT. In the main event of Night Two of the show, "HIM" defeated Baron Corbin to retain his title.
A repackaged "Free Agent" Corbin took Hayes to his limits and set him up for the End of Days. Hayes countered, sent him face-first into the mat, and then pinned Corbin with Nothing but Net finishing maneuver.
It appears that Hayes vs. Corbin feud is over for now as Rhea Ripley issued a stern warning to Hayes and Trick Willams by appearing on NXT. Perhaps, Ripley's Judgment Day faction is coming after Hayes and Trick Williams on NXT.
