WWE NXT Great American Bash 2024: Multiple championships retained on Night One

Shifting its home from the USA Network to Syfy, WWE NXT presented the 2024 edition of Great American Bash, this week from the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida with multiple championships on the card.

The night one of the theme episode kicked off with Hank Walker & Tank Ledger attempting to sneak into the Performances Center after which Alba Fyre & Isla Dawn (c) defeated Lash Legend & Jakara Jackson to retain the WWE Women's Tag Team Championships.

Legend got Dawn in an Electric Chair position and tagged in Jackson. Jackson hit an assisted cutter on Fyre with Legend, but Dawn and Legend then went to the outside area, creating a brawl.

Dawn hit a meteora on Legend off the apron and made the tag to Jackson to hit their double-team finisher on Jackson for the pin to win. This marked The Unholy Union's second title defense since winning the belt at Clash at the Castle.

In the second hour of the NXT Great American Bash, Tony D' Angelo (c) defeated Tavion Heights to retain the NXT Heritage Cup. Heights sent D'Angelo crashing into the mat with a T-Bone suplex in a near fall attempt.

After a belly-to-belly suplex, D'Angelo sent Heights crashing into the ring ropes. After unloading a couple of right hands on Heights, D'Angelo connected with a couple of spinebusters on his opponent for the win.

Then in the main event of the Great American Bash 2024, Roxanne Perez (c) defeated Thea Hail to retain the NXT Women's Championship. For the third time in her career, Hail went after the title but things still didn't turn out to be in her favor.

To support Hail in this match, Chase U members - Andre Chase, Duke Hudson, Ridge Holland, and Riley Osborne were in her corner but an unfazed Perez picked up a dominant win and continued with her title reign.

Perez trapped Hail with the crossface submission but it was broken after Hail reached the ring ropes. Hail was further dragged to the mid-portion before Perez finally put her out with the Pop Rox finisher for the win.

With a win over Lyra Valkyria at the 2024 NXT Stand & Deliver premium live event, Perez won the title and she has since defended against Lola Vice, Tatum Paxley, TNA Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace, Chelsea Green, and Natalya.
