WWE NXT: New matches announced for 2023 Battleground; Loaded episode set for next week

Bengaluru, May 17: WWE NXT's next big stop will be the Battleground premium live event within two weeks' time, in the main event of which Carmelo Hayes will defend his NXT Title against the former champion Bron Breakker.

More matches for the PLE were announced on this week's NXT. The Creed Brothers made it clear that they want the NXT tag team titles and throw down a challenge to the reigning champion, Gallus to set up this title match.

The Creed Brothers defeated The Dyad on NXT before proceeding to make the challenge. Gallus won the titles in a multi-person tag team title match at the April NXT PLE Stand & Deliver.

Also, during the inaugural Supernova Sessions on NXT hosted by Noam Dar, Dragon Lee challenged Dar for the Heritage Cup. Dar hesitated but Nathan Frazer came out to make sure that Dar accept that match.

Hence, Dar vs. Lee was made official for Battleground. Also, the final of the NXT Women's Title tournament will go down at the PLE to crown a new champion alongside a Triple Threat for NXT North American Title.

The 2023 WWE NXT Battleground Premium Live Event is set to go down on Sunday, May 28, 2023, at the Tsongas Center in Lowell, Massachusetts. The current match card for the event goes as follows:

- NXT Championship: Carmelo Hayes vs. Bron Breakker

- NXT Tag Team Championship Match: Gallus vs. Creed Brothers

- NXT Women's Championship Tournament Final: TBS vs. TBD

- Heritage Cup Match: Noam Dar vs. Dragon Lee

- North American Championship Triple Threat Match: Wes Lee vs. Joe Gacy vs. Tyler Bate

The go-home episode for WWE NXT Battleground 2023 will take place next to continue the builds for the PLE. Since Nathan Frazer forced Noam Dar to defend his Heritage Cup at the PLE, these two will now compete on NXT, next week.

The semi-final matches over NXT Women's Championship Tournament will also continue next week. The lineups stand Cora Jade vs. Lyra Valkyria and Roxanne Perez vs. Tiffany Stratton. The winners will move to Battleground for the final match.

Plus, two newbies Tank Ledger and Hank Walker will go through a test when they face each other in a singles match. That being said, the match card for the May 23 episode of WWE NXT stands as follows:
