WWE NXT Stand & Deliver 2023: Current Champion returning; New Ladder Match participant set

Bengaluru, March 29: Heading into NXT's next premium live event outing this weekend, Stand & Deliver 2023, the biggest concern was the status of the reigning women's champion of the brand as she was in a medically unfit condition.

The concerned name, Roxanne Perez was stretched out of the arena after her title match against former NXT UK Women's Champion Meiko Satomura at NXT Roadblock, earlier this month. In her absence, WWE confirmed a ladder match to crown a new champion.

However, the reigning NXT Women's Champion made her TV return ahead of NXT Stand & Deliver and also confirmed her presence on the show. In a backstage segment, she informed Shawn Michaels that doctors had cleared her to compete.

Since Roxanne was ready to defend her NXT Women's Championship at Stand & Deliver, she was inserted into the sixth and final position in the ladder match. Instead of a match for a vacant title, it will now see the champion defending her belt.

Thus, the NXT Women's Championship Match has been converted into a six-way Ladder Match at Stand & Deliver where Roxanne Perez goes up against Zoey Stark, Gigi Dolin, Tiffany Stratton, Lyra Valkyria, and Indi Hartwell.

In a further addition to the card of the upcoming PLE, Axiom has also confirmed his spot in a Fatal-5-Way match. Last night's edition of NXT saw a 20-Man Battle Royal to determine the fifth and final North American Championship match participant at NXT Stand & Deliver.

The superstars included in the match were Axiom, Nathan Frazer, Dijak, Jinder Mahal, Xyon Quinn, Dabba-Kato, Scrypts, Apollo Crews, Dante Chen, Damon Kemp, Charlie Dempsey, Drew Gulak, Edris Enofe, Malik Blade, Odyssey Jones, Bryson Montana, Quincy Elliott, Javier Bernal, Oro Mensah, and Hank Walker.

In the end, Axiom toppled Walker over the top rope to secure his victory and thereby the championship shot, the first of his WWE career. The masked superstar joins defending champion Wes Lee, Dragon Lee, JD McDonagh, and Ilja Dragunov in the title match.

Johnny Gargano will face Grayson Waller in an Unsanctioned Match at Stand & Deliver. The bonafide heel, Waller signed the match contract on the latest episode of NXT to make the match, official. Afterward, the two also got into a brawl to end the show.

The 2023 WWE NXT Stand & Deliver premium live event takes place this Saturday, April 1 at the Cypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California. The final match card of the show stands as follows:

- Six-Way Ladder Match for NXT Women's Championship: Roxanne Perez (c) vs. Zoey Stark vs. Gigi Dolin vs. Tiffany Stratton vs. Lyra Valkyria vs. Indi Hartwell

- Triple Threat Match for NXT Tag Team Championships: Gallus (c) vs. The Creed Brothers vs. Tony D'Angelo & Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo

- 8-Person Tag Team Match: The Schism (Joe Gacy, Ava Raine, Jagger Reid, & Rip Fowler) vs. Chase U (Andre Chase, Duke Hudson, Thea Hail, & Tyler Bate) (If Schism wins they will get to control Chase U)

- Fatal-5-Way Match for the NXT North American Championship: Wes Lee (c) vs. Dragon Lee vs. JD McDonagh vs. Ilja Dragunov. vs. Axiom
