On this week's episode of WWE NXT, Kelani Jordan (c) defeated "Michin" Mia Yim to retain the NXT Women's North American Championship in what marked the first-ever defense of the title that was inaugurated at Battleground, earlier this month.
Jordan defeated five other women in a six-pack ladder match at Battleground to become the first holder of the NXT Women's North American Championship. It appears that she will eventually defend the belt at the next NXT premium live event, Heatwave.

In a backstage comedic segment, Arianna Grace thought that Kelani Jordan wanted her to be the next challenger for the women's NA Title. Grace was corrected that Sol Ruca was already declared to be the next challenger.
After Grace declared herself to be superior to Ruca, Robert Stone suggested that Ruca should go up against Grace next week to determine the next challenger. NXT General Manager Ava agreed and booked the match for next Tuesday.
Ruca was a part of the six-pack ladder match at NXT Battleground by winning her respective qualifier while Grace also received her shot to move into the title match but she came up short in the qualifier.
Tony D'Angelo will defend the Heritage Cup against one-half of the NXT Tag Team Champions, Nathan Frazer on next week's NXT. The match was announced after Frazer signed a contract drawn up for a match over the Cup.
New number-one contenders to Frazer and Axiom's NXT Tag Team Championship will also be decided through a Tag Team Turmoil Gauntlet match on next week's NXT. The winners of this bout will receive a title shot at Heatwave on July 7.
The June 25 episode of WWE NXT takes at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida where No Quarter Catch Crew's Damon Kemp will also be seen in action. At a glance, the match card for the show goes as follows:
