WWE plan big Intercontinental Championship match at Wrestlemania 34

Bengaluru, February 9: Braun Strowman is the most dominant superstar present in the WWE Raw roster, nowadays. Nobody in the history of the company has created so much carnage on the show over the past few weeks. He toppled over ambulances, trucks and even part of Raw sets, as well to prove his dominance on the show.

With all the momentum with him, it is evident that he will be competing in a marquee match at Wrestlemania. If the recent reports are to be believed then another huge name from the Raw roster will be pitted against him to create a big match at the biggest event of the year.

The Miz is the other name being speculated to compete against him. Ever since his return in January after completing filming for the Marine 6 franchise, he's been on a roll with the Miztourage by his side. He defeated Roman Reigns on two consecutive occasions to win the Intercontinental Championship for the eighth occasion and vowed to make it prestigious.

So, it looks understandable that the Hollywood A-lister will be defending his title against a big opponent who will also be a marquee attraction on the Raw brand. Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter was the one to hint that this David vs. Goliath contest might be in planning for the biggest event of the year.

“Current plans call for Braun Strowman to challenge The Miz for the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 34 in New Orleans. The Intercontinental Title match is expected to be one of the biggest matches at WrestleMania this year, which is why Miz recently defeated Roman Reigns the way that he did on Raw.”



The source also hinted that Wrestlemania is still months away and the plan around The Miz and Strowman may change in due course depending on the ongoing scenario. For now, the latter one will be involved in the Elimination Chamber match where he has the opportunity to become the number one contender for the Universal Championship.

However, Roman Reigns is the favorite to take this spot keeping Strowman out of the prime title picture, for now. So, it will be a good option for the officials to start a feud between Miz and Strowman for the Wrestlemania season. This rivalry has all the potential to be one of the main events for this Wrestlemania over the mid-card Intercontinental title which is quite rare.
