WWE Raw: Becky Lynch wins vacant Women’s World Championship

A sudden injury declaration by Rhea Ripley forced the WWE to host a battle royal on the latest episode of Monday Night Raw to crown a new Women's World Champion and Becky Lynch emerged to be the winner to capture the vacant title.

The participants in this battle royal were: Chelsea Green, Piper Niven, Natalya Neidhart, Nia Jax, Maxxine Dupri, Candice LeRae, Indi Hartwell, Katana Chance, Kayden Carter, Liv Morgan, Becky Lynch, Zoey Stark, Shayna Baszler and Ivy Nile.

The battle royal included several notable spots where Natalya eliminated Chelsea Green, but the referee never witnessed her going over the top rope and she got back in. Then Becky Lynch was put through the announce table by Nia Jax.

The final five participants in the match were Nia Jax, Shayna Baszler, Liv Morgan, Zoey Stark, and Becky Lynch who was out of the match for a long time after that table spot. Then Jax took Stark and Baszler out of the match.

When Jax and Morgan thought they were the last two in the match, Becky Lynch crawled back into the ring. The three of them continued the fight as Liv and Becky put up a collaborative effort to take Nia out of the match.

Becky and Liv then fought their way to the apron, where Morgan nailed a Codebreaker, but Lynch reversed Morgan with the Manhandle Slam and sent her out of the ring to become the new WWE Women's World Champion.

This title win marks the seventh World title win for Becky in WWE. She previously held the SmackDown Women's title on four occasions, and the Raw Women's title twice. The Women's World title itself used to be the SmackDown title but it was renamed in 2023.

It should be noted that Becky Lynch also held the NXT Women's Championship in the fall of 2022 but WWE is currently not recognizing the NXT titles as World Championships and hence this title reign doesn't count.
