WWE Raw came live this week from the US Bank arena in Cincinnati, Ohio. We kicked things off for the next PPV in line i.e. October's Hell in a Cell PPV.
But, prior to that, we had in store two huge title matches set for the night. We kicked things off with our new United States champion, Roman Reigns who showed up holding his title high above his head. He was all set to defend his title against Rusev who came up with his rematch clause to start the night.
So, the US title match opened the night. Unfortunately, at the end of the physical contest, we have got no winner, whatsoever. These two decided to brawl outside the ring forcing the referee to get them counted out. Rusev decided to bring a chair and attack Reigns. The champ, however, fought back and handed him with his own medicine. He delivered a spear followed by chair shots to get a big pop from the crowd.
In the main event segment, Seth Rollins was livid to get into the ring and get his hands on the champion, Kevin Owens.
But he was not medically cleared to compete and hence Mick Foley could not let him go into the ring. Instead, he made a tag team match between the team of Enzo-Cass and Owens-Jericho.
After a back and forth going, Cass overpowered both his competitors. However, a slap to the face caused distraction and Owens capitalized with the pop-up powerbomb to pick up the victory.
In the other title match of last night, The New Day defended their title against Gallows and Anderson. Quite interestingly they have their next opponent set against the team of Cesaro & Sheamus. This team was created by Foley as both of them were handed a title opportunity.
In the women's division, we have got a championship match where Charlotte will defend against Sasha Banks, next week on Raw. Also, TJ Perkins will defend his title against Bryan Kendrick on the same night. It looks like we have already got a jam-packed Raw, next week from California.
