WWE Raw: Liv Morgan retains title inside Steel Cage amid chaos on May 27 episode

Liv Morgan continues with her newly won Women's World Championship reign following this week's Raw thanks to Dominik Mysterio and consequence-wise she had a surprise gift in store for him by the end of the show.

In the main event of the latest episode of Monday Night Raw, Liv Morgan (c) defeated Becky Lynch in a Steel Cage Match by escaping the cage to retain her title. As noted above, this happened after an intentional interference from Dominik.

Multiple storylines ran alongside this match including Braun Strowman chasing down JD McDonagh for weeks. On Raw, Strowman defeated McDonagh in a match but after the bout Carlito, Finn Balor, and McDonagh attacked Strowman.

To seek revenge, Strowman then started chasing McDonagh all over the arena throughout the show. In one scene, McDonagh was seen talking to Liv Morgan in the back of the arena before Strowman scared him away.

During the championship match between Lynch and Morgan, Dominik appeared and he opened the cage door, trying to help Becky escape the structure and become the new champion. However, the challenger wasn't interested.

Balor and McDonagh arrived at the scene as they tried to keep Mysterio from interfering on Becky's behalf. Strowman came out and while chasing McDonagh, he inadvertently slammed the cage door on Becky's head, allowing Morgan to escape the cage and retain.

Following the match, Morgan approached Mysterio on the ramp and planted a kiss on his lips. He tried to sell it as if he wasn't interested while Morgan was in smile afterward. The kiss was shown on social media while USA Network cut their feed.

Liv Morgan won the women's world title on Saturday night by defeating Becky Lynch at the Saudi Arabia premium live event from the Jeddah Superdome in Jeddah. On that night, Dom flew to Saudi only to prevent Morgan from winning the belt.

However, he eventually helped Morgan to capitalize by throwing a steel chair in the ring. Following the kiss on Raw, the unlikely alliance should likely grow between Dom and Morgan in the coming weeks.
