WWE Raw: New Women’s Tag Team Champions crowned on August 14 Episode

Bengaluru, August 15: For the fourth time in about a month, we have a new pair of WWE Women's Tag Team Champions on Raw. Interestingly, no matchup was hosted to crown the new champs or rather only one-half of the champions.

In a backstage segment on WWE Raw, WWE Official Adam Pearce wanted to strip the remaining half of Women's Tag Team Champion - Chelsea Green of the titles since her partner Sonya Deville is dealing with an injury.

Chelsea wouldn't easily agree to give up the title since she worked hard to win those which also marked her first title win in WWE. She rather wanted to conduct auditions to find a new tag team partner.

In the meantime, Katana Chance and Kayden Carter interrupted and wanted a shot at the title and they wanted Chelsea to defend the title all on her own. Piper Niven (fka Doudrop) then attacked Katana and Kayden from behind.

Piper then informed Chelsea that she was her new tag team partner. Chelsea admired the confidence and said she's holding auditions, so Piper should feel free to provide a bio and video presentation via social media.

Piper rather snatched one of the tag team titles and forcefully became Chelsea's partner to be crowned the new Women's Tag Team Champion which marked her first title win in her WWE career. (sans the now defunct 24/7 Title)

Three weeks ago on WWE Raw, Chelsea Green and Sonya Deville won the Women's Tag Team Titles by defeating Raquel Rodriguez and Liv Morgan. Then Deville tore her ACL and had to undergo surgery.

Deville will now be out of action for the foreseeable future which should take up to six to nine months for recovery. In her absence, rumors were rife about WWE coming up with new ideas for crowning new champs.

Heading into Raw, Dave Meltzer noted in a recent edition of Wrestling Observer Newsletter about WWE hosting a tournament to have new titleholders for the belts which should consist of names from Raw, Smackdown, and NXT which wasn't the case.

Meanwhile, Chelsea Green herself hosted a 'Chelsea's Got Talent' audition to find a new tag team partner. WWE didn't bring those social media antics on TV but they did find a behemoth mate for her who also tasted the first championship win in her career.
