WWE Raw: Rhea Ripley vacates Women’s World Title; New Champion to be crowned

The one-year-long title reign of Rhea Ripley with the Women's World Championship has come to an end on this week's episode of WWE Raw. Nobody from the roster didn't dethrone her but rather she had to vacate the belt due to injury reasons.

The Women's World Champion Rhea Ripley came out on Raw with her right arm in a sling. She mentioned that her injury was caused due to Liv Morgan's attack and that she'll be out of action for quite a few months.

Fans chanted "bulls**t" and she agreed to them before relinquishing the title by putting it in the middle of the ring amid "thank you Mami" chants. Rhea further said Liv Morgan's little revenge tour is rather coward-ish.

Eventually, Morgan came out but she was stopped by security. Ripley went ahead as she wanted to fight her despite the injury. They took Morgan to the back, but Ripley took out one security guard with a headbutt.

Last week, Liv Morgan attacked Ripley in a backstage segment. Then heading into this week's Raw, it was reported that Ripley was legit injured during the segment and that it was serious enough to have caused the end of her title reign.

In a latter segment, Liv Morgan said that everyone is hating her for injuring Rhea Ripley, but there was no sympathy for her when Rhea hurt her shoulder back in the summer of 2023.

Morgan said this is the beginning of the Liv Morgan Revenge Tour, and by the end of the tour, we will see her become the new Women's World Champion. Going by the angle, she indeed is the favorite to pick up the title.

Starting from Wrestlemania 39, The Eradicator held the Women's World Championship for 380 days, defeating Charlotte Flair at the Show of Shows. Back then, the title used to be the SmackDown Women's Championship.

Now that Rhea Ripley has been forced to vacate the Women's World title due to injury, WWE announced on Raw that a new champion will be crowned on the April 22 episode. There's no update on whether WWE will host a tournament to determine the same.
