WWE Raw: Seth Rollins returns for Title Match; Drew McIntyre “quits” company

In a dual set of incidents, one top WWE Superstar returned on the latest episode of Monday Night Raw to secure a shot at the World Heavyweight Title while the former challenger for the title left the WWE.

The post-Clash at the Castle edition of Raw kicked off with the return of Seth Rollins which marked his first appearance on WWE programming since losing the World Heavyweight Championship to Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania 40.

Revealing himself to be the host for the night, Rollins proceeded to mention that he's back for only one reason - to be the absolute greatest of all time and that he wants to reclaim the World Heavyweight Championship.

Rollins was initially intending to enter the Money in the Bank ladder match to earn a contract for a future title match opportunity. However, the world champion Damian Priest came out as the two exchanged words.

Priest readily granted Rollins a title shot at Money in the Bank. Rollins believed that Priest's offer was a ruse for Judgment Day to attack him, but Priest assured him that his cohorts had nothing to do with him making the offer.

With that, Seth Rollins vs. Damian Priest for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship was announced for the 2024 Money in the Bank premium live event. This was the first match announced for the PLE apart from the two titular Ladder Matches.

In more news from Raw, Drew McIntyre has "quit" WWE from a kayfabe perspective. Originally slated for a promo segment, he "walked out" of the company on Monday's show, and further deactivated his social media profiles.

This comes after CM Punk cost McIntyre his World Heavyweight Championship match opportunity against Damian Priest at Saturday's Clash at the Castle PLE in his homeland of Glasgow, Scotland. "I can't do this anymore. Sc**w this company. I quit," was McIntyre's short response in a promo.

WWE Raw general manager Adam Pearce tried to stop McIntyre from quitting, but McIntyre pushed past him. McIntyre also had a brief backstage word of exchange with WWE chief content officer Paul "Triple H" Levesque before leaving the arena.

This ongoing angle should continue when CM Punk appears on this Friday's SmackDown episode in his hometown of Chicago, Illinois to continue his months-long feud with McIntyre. The two are speculated to compete in a match at SummerSlam.
