WWE Raw: Top Superstars continue to pay homage to late Bray Wyatt

Bengaluru, August 29: Top WWE Superstar Bray "Windham Rotunda" Wyatt passed away at the age of 36, last week, and that news has hit the pro wrestling community in a big way. This past episode of WWE Smackdown was dedicated to the late Superstar.

Then the latest episode of Monday Night Raw saw the current WWE World heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins opening his promo session with the "YOWIE WOWIE!" catchphrase to pay his respects to his friend and in-ring adversary.

After getting into tears during this weekend's WWE Live Event, Rollins also unveiled a new side plate on his WWE World Heavyweight Championship on Raw to pay homage to Wyatt's "The Fiend" persona.

It was back at Hell in a Cell 2019 that The Fiend defeated him to win the Universal Championship for the very first time in his career. It was that loss that forced Rollins to leave The Kingslayer persona and adopt the current Visionary gimmick.

Later the night on Raw, Becky Lynch and Zoey Stark main-evented the show in a Falls Count Anywhere Match. That match ended with Becky putting Stark through a table to secure the pin-fall win.

While gaining some momentums for her matchup at Payback, this Sunday against WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus, Lynch also paid tribute to Wyatt by wearing a black armband. She also went into tears while closing the show.

Many WWE Superstars including Seth Rollins were seen wearing the armbands with Bray Wyatt's name on it. Money raised from this merch-selling will be donated to Wyatt's family as planned by the WWE.

In the meantime, new details have emerged regarding the former WWE Champion's passing away. TMZ has reported that Bray Wyatt wasn't wearing a doctor-recommended heart defibrillator at the time of his death.

"The report says Windham was discovered in his bed, not breathing, and was turning blue. Windham's girlfriend called 911, as her mother attempted CPR ... but he was later pronounced dead at the hospital."

The report also noted that police spoke with Bray Wyatt's immediate family members and got the info of him contracting COVID in March 2023 and developing heart complications. This led him to possess a "weak lower part of his heart."
