WWE Raw: Two big returns occur; Update on King of the Ring tournament

The second night of the 2024 Draft on this Monday's episode of WWE Raw witnessed an unannounced return of Stephanie McMahon which was her first televised appearance since WrestleMania XL Sunday on April 7.

During this appearance, McMahon announced the first-round selections for Night Two of the WWE Draft. At present, she does not have an official role with WWE as an employee and she's only being utilized to be a special attraction on TV.

There's no update on whether WWE has future plans for her as a TV talent, moving forward following this. Braun Strowman is another name who made his return on Raw in a segment with United States Champion Logan Paul, and NFL star Patrick Mahomes.

Paul and The Judgment Day were attacking Jey Uso when Strowman made his surprise comeback on Raw, chasing off the heel names. Strowman was thereafter announced as an official selection for the red brand in the Draft.

Before this appearance, The Monster Among Men has been sidelined for nearly a year after undergoing a neck fusion surgery. He was released from the WWE in June 2021 only to be re-hired by the company in September 2022.

In more news from the April 30 episode of Raw, it was announced that a tournament to crown the next King of the Ring in the WWE will begin from next week onward.

The finals of the tournament will take place at the WWE King & Queen of the Ring premium live event set for Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on May 25 at the Jeddah Super Dome. A tournament will also be underway to crown the second-ever Queen of the Ring.

Xavier Woods of The New Day won the King of the Ring tournament over two years ago by defeating Finn Balor in the final match at Crown Jewel PLE in October of 2021 while Zelina Vega defeated Piper Niven to become The first-ever Queen's Crown tournament winner.
